Healthiest Menu Options:

Wendys has some halfway decent menu options but still is your “classic” fast food restaurant with many items packed with sodium and trans fat. Here are your best bets:

• Grilled Chicken Go Wrap: 260 calories, 10g fat, 3.5g saturated fat, 730mg sodium

• Ultimate Chicken Grill Sandwich: 360 calories, 7g fat, 1.5g saturated fat, 1110mg sodium

• 5 Piece Chicken Nuggets: 230 calories, 15g fat, 3g saturated fat, 520mg sodium

• Small Chili: 210 calories, 6g fat, 2.5g saturated fat, 880mg sodium

• Plain Baked Potato: 270 calories, 0g fat, 0g saturated fat, 25mg sodium

• Apple Pecan Chicken Salad Half-Size: 170 calories, 6g fat, 3.5g saturated fat, 11g sugar

BOTTOM LINE: Overall, Wendys beats out Burger King but still has a significant way to go in offering healthier menu options and eliminating trans fat completely from their food. They do offer the baked potato and chili as side items and now offer a side salad and mandarin oranges but it’s time for them to step up to the plate and introduce more healthy items.
