This Saturday Morning Power Smoothie Recipe is perfect for starting your weekend off right. It’s especially helpful for warding off a hangover if you’ve had a few too many drinks the night before (not that I’ve ever done that). 

Here’s what’s in it and why it’s healthy:

Strawberries: Strawberries are an awesome “power fruit.” They are a great source of vitamin C and manganese, and a good source of dietary fiber. Their health benefits are well documented.

Blueberries: Blueberries have some of the most disease-fighting compounds of any fruit or vegetable.

Kale: A 2011 animal study concluded that green, leafy vegetables like kale helped produce more disease-fighting white blood cells. It’s one of the healthiest foods you can eat.

Mangoes: According to an animal study, eating more mangoes can help you reduce body fat and control blood sugar.

As you can see, there are some really powerful fruits and veggies in this smoothie. And the nutrition facts are equally impressive: 77 calories, 0 grams of fat, and 4 grams of fiber!

Ingredients: Power Smoothie Recipe

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup frozen mangoes
  • 1 cup frozen kale
  • 4 cups of water

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a high-powered blender (I use a Vitamix). Blend on high for 30 seconds and serve.
