KFC Nutrition Facts: Healthy Menu Options

Kentucky Fried Chicken (aka KFC) … the name alone implies a steady dose of unhealthy dishes; however, you’ll be surprised to know that with KFC’s new grilled chicken options, you can actually eat a halfway decent meal that is much healthier than most fast food restaurants these days.

Check out some of their healthiest choices below:

• Roasted Chicken Caesar Salad with Fat Free Ranch Dressing (without croutons): 315 calories, 6g fat, 3g saturated fat, 940mg sodium

• House Side Salad with Light Italian Dressing: 25 calories, .5g fat, 0g saturated fat, 520mg sodium

• KFC Snacker (Honey BBQ): 210 calories, 32g carbs, 3g fat, 1g saturated fat, 470mg sodium

• 2 Grilled Chicken Wings: 160 calories, 8g fat, 2g saturated fat, 320mg sodium

• 1 Grilled Chicken Breast: 180 calories, 4g fat, 1g saturated fat, 440mg sodium

• 2 Grilled Chicken Drumsticks: 140 calories, 8g fat, 2g saturated fat, 400mg sodium

• 1 Grilled Chicken Thigh: 4 calories, 9g fat, 2.5g saturated fat, 320mg sodium

• Side of Green Beans: 25 calories, 0g fat, 0g saturated fat, 380mg sodium

• Side of Mean Greens: 30 calories, 0g fat, 0g saturated fat, 400mg sodium

• Side of 3 Bean Salad: 70 calories, 0g fat, 0g saturated fat, 170mg sodium

Bottom Line: KFC has made significant progress with the new Grilled Chicken options, which have fewer calories, fewer grams of fat, and less sodium than their Original Recipe chicken. Of course KFC still has its fair share of fried, fatty foods but they now offer enough healthy menu options so that you can steer clear of trouble. All-in-all, if you stick to the grilled chicken choices and choose a salad with low-fat dressing or beans as a side, this is one of the better fast food options out there.
