Consider the following statistic from the Public Library of Science: by not smoking, getting some exercise, drinking alcohol in moderation, and eating 5 servings of fruits and vegetables each day, you can add 14 years to your life!


Your health is one of life's greatest gifts, and if someone told you that by taking control of you health today you could have 14 extra years to spend with your loved ones, why wouldn't you want to learn about making healthy lifestyle changes?


We are in the midst of an epidemic and the facts are staggering:

  • 1/3 of U.S. adults are now considered obese (over 72 million people)

  • 2/3 of Americans are now either overweight or obese!

  • 35% of adult women and 40% of adults aged 40-59 are obese!

  • If trends continue at the current rate, 100% of Americans will be overweight or obese by the year 2048

  • Childhood obesity and diabetes rates are also at an all-time high.

  • 30% of children aged 2-19 are considered overweight or obese and it has been estimated than 1 in 3 children born in the year 2000 will develop diabetes in their lifetime!

These numbers are mind-boggling and it's time to do something about it. Whether you are currently one of the statistics or are trying not to become one, the good news is that YOU HAVE THE POWER TO CONTROL YOUR OWN DESTINY when it comes to your health. Of course there will always be factors that are beyond your control but why not give yourself the best possible chance to live a long healthy life for you and your loved ones?



You found this website for a reason. I developed The Healthy Eating Guide as a way to share everything I have learned about healthy eating, cooking light, healthy eating guidelines, and exercise. I decided to start getting serious about eating healthy and exercising a few years ago and have since transformed my body and mind and gained a wealth of knowledge and tips. I have done thousands of hours of research, consulted with physicians, and read countless numbers of books, journals, and articles about all aspects of health and nutrition, tried all different types of diets and exercise, and now I want to help other people make a change for the better.


If you follow the advice in this site, you will learn how to make healthy eating part of your everyday life. You will learn exactly what you need to do to start eating healthier, organic food. You will find tips for easy, low fat cooking. You will learn all about different types of exercise so you can decide what works best for you. And, most importantly, you will begin living a heart healthy lifestyle.


I have included some great resources and healthy eating tips such as a printable healthy food list to take with you to the grocery store, links to a calorie counter and a nutritional value calculator, and a whole bunch of my all-time favorite easy healthy recipes.
