Guilt-Free Healthy Dessert Recipes


Dessert is a usually a high-calorie, high-sugar, guilty pleasure that can be a huge obstacle for those looking to watch their weight. Many experts, such as dietitians and physicians, argue that diets high in sugar and high fructose corn syrup have been a leading cause of the obesity epidemic.

Most dessert recipes are packed with sticks of butter, lots of refined flour, and way too much sugar. And going out to eat at restaurants is even worse. The Uno Chicago Grill Kids' Sundae has 860 calories, 38 grams of fat, and a whopping 94 grams of sugar. The Red Robin Mountain High Mudd Pie has 1,390 calories, 69 grams of fat, and 205 grams of carbs. And the Romano’s Macaroni Grill New York Cheesecake with Caramel Fudge Sauce tops them all with 1,660 calories, 97 grams of fat (57 g saturated), almost 1000 mg of sodium, and 165 g carbohydrates. That's disgusting.
